Absence of A Physical Address Reduces Sales
Jump Start Marketing Internet News - Private Box Ltd., an online service provider of physical addresses for small businesses, in a two part survey, has found that not displaying a physical address on your website is a sales barrier in ecommerce. The first part of the survey monitored the habits of 4000 online shoppers over a 3-month period. The survey found that at least 35% of them bought only from sites displaying physical contact details.
The second part of the survey, which spanned over 3 years, measured the sales of a website with a physical address and compared them with sales when the address was absent. Statistics similar to those in the first part of the survey were obtained.
According to the company, the presence of a physical address on your website will increase sales by up to 33%. However, by way of a disclaimer, it must be noted that a part of Private Box’s services includes providing a ‘physical address” on a rental basis.
